When you use the Dead Man's Switch bot, we collect and store only the minimum data required for the service to function:
Your data is used exclusively to provide the Dead Man's Switch service: tracking your check-in schedule and delivering your message to your trusted contact if you stop checking in. We do not use your data for any other purpose.
Your messages are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being stored. Each record uses a unique derived encryption key. Data is encrypted at rest and only decrypted at the moment of delivery to your trusted contact. Bot administrators cannot read your messages.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account via the bot, all your data — including your encrypted message, contact information, and settings — is permanently removed from our database.
We do not share, sell, or transfer your data to any third parties. The only external service we interact with is the Telegram Bot API, which is required for the bot to function. No analytics services, advertising networks, or tracking tools are used.
This website and the bot use no cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, and no behavioral data collection of any kind.
